ALBUM BLUEGRASS BAND
Fans of bluegrass music have known Album band from Chomutov since 1987. The band has come through many changes ever since. Members of Album at present are Petr Gärtner (mandolin, vocal), Marek Gärtner (bass, vocal), Mira Jiriste (banjo, vocal), Vlastimil Jiriste (guitar) and also newly Jirka Sruma jr. on fiddle. Part-time guest Zdenek Lucak (dobro player) has become regular member of the band and ex-singer Iva Vondrackova has become part-time guest of Album.Album plays mostly contemporary or traditional bluegrass music, sometimes with Czech lyrics, written by Jana Mestekova. Most of their music is sung in English, including their own tunes, written either by guitar player Vlastimil or by American singer-songwriter Liz Meyer.
Bluegrass fans can hear music of Album on their regular performances in country saloon 'U Bizona' in Chomutov and many bluegrass festivals like Banjo Jamboree in Caslav, Bluegrass Maraton in Borovany u Tachova, Bluegrass Night in Litice, Babi Leto na Kyselce in Bilina and many others. Last year Album also performed in well-known Prague club CI-5 or in music club ´Stara Pekarna´ in Brno. Album regularly participates on European World of Bluegrass festival in Voorthuizen in the Netherlands and listeners could hear their music live on radio stations Proglas (Brno), Country Radio (Prague) or radio Sever (Usti nad Labem)

Our latest CD
On saturday, March 31 and sunday, April 1 in 2007, Album band recorded new 'promotial' CD in Mira Kuzelka's recording studio in Most. With help of Mira, Amper and bottle of Jameson whiskey, we tried to record about 11 songs. We used this CD mainly as a demo for festivals, but if anybody'd like to buy it, please, write us. You can listen each track of the CD in 'sound samples' in our web. All songs (except one - Intim sprej) are in english language.
